Winterwood Project: Finding Your Way Home #4

Back Story: Winterwoodstudios.com is located on Beaver Lake. I was a little concerned about finding it by myself but it seemed like there was a Winterwood sign tacked on every other tree. The county road got narrower and turned from paved to gravel and moderate to steep descending curves. A beautiful white dog greeted me at the entrance. The view was so beautiful that I had to remind myself I was there to record, not to take a hike. I looked over the lake and up at the hills and asked God’s blessing on the project.

I picked up the rough draft of my recording and am very pleased with it. It’s a good performance and well-recorded. Now come the decisions of what, if any, instruments to add so I’m just going to listen and see what I want to hear that isn’t there–yet. Definitely, there are places where strings come in. It’s a gentle project but full of passion. It could fit in almost any setting and call attention to itself when necessary or desired, but not demand it. Hmm…sort of like me…

Tomorrow I will have more eloquent words to describe this day but right now I’m just tired so here’s the short version. Recording at www.winterwoodstudios.com went very well. The Steinway sparkled with lovely silver sound and we were done in about 3 hours. The Beaver lakeside studio is gorgeous and afterwards I walked across the swinging bridge down to the water just thanking God for His goodness to me.
